[21] The Litli-Hrutur Eruption
On July 10th, 2023 a new volcanic eruption started in Iceland. The eruption is part of a new series of volcanic eruptions on the Reykjanes peninsula which started in 2021 and belongs to the Fagradallsfjall area. This was the third eruption in three years. I was among the lucky ones to be only two kilometers away, when the eruption started and an almost one kilometer long fissure opened up in the ground. In this case I will show not only abstract images but also landscape images from the event and how it was unfolding. The eruption ended on August 5th, 2023.
