The Findel Glacier is located in the Swiss Alps near the village of Zermatt. Like many glaciers, the Findel Glacier has been heavily impacted by climate change and has experienced significant retreat over the last decades. This can also be seen on the image above with the old side moraine where the glacier once used to reach out. The remaining surface is rather greyish and enables dark, moody looking images while the glacial river sometimes creates flow patters like in Iceland. The photos were taken in 2022 and 2024.
